Purpose and Scope
Bioinformatics in general is an integral part of a growing number of important real-world applications within industrial chemistry, biomedicine, microbiology, agriculture etc. Within all these areas, numerous challenges arise where computer models and meta-heuristics are applied.
This workshop aims at bringing together researchers in this field and share latest contributions and ongoing work.
Session Topics
The session topics are related to metaheuristics applied within the field of bioinformatics. These include but are not limited to:
- Protein folding and docking simulations
- Protein structure prediction and energy-minimisation
- Protein design methods
- Protein interaction prediction and classification
- Regulatory networks
- Gene mapping
- Sequence alignment and assembly
Involving techniques such as:
- Evolutionary algorithms
- Multi-objective algorithms
- Parallel metaheuristics
- Hybrid and hierarchical approaches
- Surrogate models
- Data extraction and Visualisation
